Probably, I have never seen a US NAVY pilot with an M3 .45 holster. Remember that M3 .45 holster introduced in 1943. M1916 hip holster would be more accurate or kind of rigger-made/private purchase shoulder holster. VGS-18 VC-29 aboard the USS Santee c. Oct-Nov 1942. USS Ranger, Operation Torch 1942 Hip holster converted for shoulder holster - mid 1942 VF-6 pilots summer 1942. You can see WWI Cavalary holster as well and shoulder rigger made example USMC pilot with M3 .45 holster - early production with narrow shoulder strap VMF-321 VMTB-232 Rigger made examples -

Hi. It is full and unopened and unused best I can tell. I haven't tried to open it or even clean it yet as I didn't want to do anything to harm the value. -

At that point, would you see the 1911 M3 shoulder holster? Or regular holster with hook? I’ve seen pics of both before. Guess it would just be personal preference there. Anyways, nice display I appreciate your attention to detail! -

Colt .45 1911 for early war till mid-1943 when you can see a S&W .38 Victory model more often... but sometimes in 45 you could still see a .45, especially used by USMC flyers... Probably I saw the earliest photos with .38 from March 1943 in Dustin book vol. 4. -

Well done maniquin, what was more common? The .38 Victory, or the 1911A1 or was it split early war and late war? Love the display!
