Found this souvenir book from Vietnam. A light-hearted look at a very hard time. One thing I noticed, a floating restaurant must have been blown up early in the war, because it is mentioned at least twice in this book. My FIGMO time is almost here, buy me a Ba Me Ba. -

I agree with Robin. Not only is it a nice original piece but it's an early version with the narrow clamp. These are much harder to find than the later style with the wider clamp designed to keep the launcher from shifting forward on the barrel. Great find. -

The "701" is a unit number. The other disk on the soldier's uniform would show the type of unit. For the Army Distinctive Unit Insignia, from left to right, 17th Infantry Regiment, 22nd Infantry Regiment, and 34th Infantry Regiment. -

Hit some antique stores today and found a few neat things. The ARVN beret is a first for me, though I think it’s a good one. -

I found this thread so decided I would add this 29th ID patch to it instead of starting a new one. I found the patch at the flea market today and my knowledge of black back patches is lacking. I would like to know if this is a legit WWII British made patch? -

I was issued one in '79. I didn't like it because it always came unbuckled while doing the 3 to 5 second rush. -

Also have these pins in same box as ribbons. What is significance of 701 below US collar pin?
