Thanks for all of that info, I certainly stand corrected haha. After looking it up, I see there are actually 11 American saints. And three of those saints have major universities named after them including St. John Neumann (Neumann University), St. Frances Xavier Cabrini (Cabrini University) , and of course St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (Seton Hall University). I know each one of those universities and I actually have at least 1 friend who went to college at each one of them. Never realized their namesakes were all saints though. You learn something new everyday. Thanks again though, I appreciate you for making me aware of these American saints! 😃👍🏻 -

Great example! This was exactly the type of situation I was thinking about when I first made this post. I’ll have to read up on them. Thanks! -

No, no plaque. They came from a man I believe was involved in decommissioning these vessels. Thank you for the insight, that is a wonderful collection you have going, much respect -

Thanks for your very detailed response! I had totally forgotten about the first MOH’s awarded for the Great Locomotive Chase, but I never knew about many of the other examples you gave. Much appreciated! -

I thought you may find my Great Grandfathers service record book interesting. I actually have an earlier dated one in addition to this one, but it had gotten soaked at one point. Thats probably the reason that this second book was opened on the day that it was. He was a D-Day Vet. -

Silver stars with that low of a number would most certainly have been awarded in the 1930s for World War I -

These plaques are given as gifts normally to Officers or Chief Petty Officers after a 2-4 year tour on the ship or sub. They are normally mounted on a wood plaque with a name plate for the person it was given to, These did not have wood plaque??
