4STARCHRIS Posted October 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2010 MOH recipient 1SG David H. McNerney, a dear friend of mine passed away this am at about 4am at the DeBakey Va Medical Center in Houston, Texas from a long hard fight with lung cancer. My good friend may you rest in eternal peace and suffer no longer from the enemy within, cancer. Like you I have fought this battle long and hard. It is an enemy that is relentless. It never sleeps and never stops attacking. You fought hard soldier. God speed and dont forget the rest of us down here. Chris

m1ashooter Posted October 11, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 11, 2010 Thanks for the post. It will be interesting to see if our local paper prints anything. Do you know anything about funeral arrangements? I'd like to pay my respects if possible.

4STARCHRIS Posted October 18, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted October 18, 2010 http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=...&id=7728248 This is the link to the news coverage of his funeral. Just a few people in my eyes showed up. Houston Veterans Memorial Cemetery has really come a long ways in making this a world class cemetery. Moving the stones from off the ground to upright has reall made the place stand out. 4starchris
