Wally6 Posted January 15 #1 Posted January 15 Grouping belonging to a local Dubuquer I've picked up recently. This grouping belonged to Albert Hird, of Dubuque IA. Hird served in the 76th ID, 151st Field Artillery Regiment. His uniform and overcoat both carry a rather rare variation of the 76th SSI, which I haven't seen before or since. It's always great to find local militaria with unique aspects such as this one!
268th C.A. Posted January 15 #2 Posted January 15 Thats killer! Great group. Congratulations! Great post!
Wally6 Posted January 18 Author #4 Posted January 18 Would anyone more knowledgeable on SSIs know what these one's could've been for? It was suggested to me that it might have been for a coastal unit based on the boat? Would love to hear some suggestions
eaglerunner88 Posted February 25 #5 Posted February 25 Really nice grouping! Having a photo of the soldier in uniform is always a plus. I like that souvenir of France doily. I've seen various types of these but the 1918 is really cool.
