historylives Posted December 9, 2023 #1 Posted December 9, 2023 hello all. i have been looking into wing sections attempting to find information on Norcid Co. of N.Y. and it seems to be a scarce topic or am i missing or passing over something? any way a simple question is this: did the Norcid Co. make all qualifications of 3'in wings or just a few and does any one have examples to show? it seems that there is not much information on this company. i would appreciate much for help. thank you.
triplecanopy Posted December 10, 2023 #2 Posted December 10, 2023 Look under Norsid Mfg in the references section and you will see some examples. BTW the correct spelling is NORSID.
Bull Moose Posted December 10, 2023 #3 Posted December 10, 2023 Bob Schwartz’s website ww2wings.com has several examples of Norsid wings, attached is the Flight Surgeon example. There are other examples that have the hallmark obliterated or partially obliterated, Bombardier, Pilot, and Aerial Gunner. The feather pattern of the shoulders in the telling feature. i don’t see a Norsid listing in the pinned reference section. http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/usaaf/flightsurgeon/presleynorsidflightsurgeon.shtml

pfrost Posted July 14, 2024 #6 Posted July 14, 2024 Great write up Tod. This is very excellent information and really adds to the hobby. I, for one, appreciate your work! And I am not just saying that because I owe you money... LOL.
