WW2 Captured M40 single decal SS Helmet ,ETO bring back by Captain Roe C. Blanton, O-1017071,  he served in the US 83rd Armored Reconnaissance  Battalion,  3rd Armored Division, I was also able to acquire his ranked M1 helmet, dog tag.

Holy smokes, both of those helmets are high on the very cool scale and some amazing examples of some iconic pieces.  Boy, that SS single decal helmet is amazing!

Any stories behind how the helmet was acquired by the vet? Did you get them from his wife or kids?

My mouth dropped the second I saw that absolutely stunning SS helmet, I would kill to have one like that!
