Hi all,

What are your opinions on these Jump Wings, are they from WW2 or from a later period?

Looking forward hearing your opinions.

Looks to me like the top jump wings might be a Japanese made occupation period badge so that would date it to post WWII.

The other wings do look to be the type associated with WWII jump wings. Both nice items.

Sjors, You sound disappointed that the Japanese made wings are not technically "WWII" but occupation made insignia is far more rare and certainly "WWII era" and owned by actual vets who were in combat in that area and were occupying while waiting to be sent home. They tell more of a story than some generic WWII era made wing which may have never been issued.

In advanced collecting these are very sought after. Just so you understand. 😉

@dmar836 I am not necessarily dissapointed, of course it is cool its occupation related, but I just had different expectations of the Jump Wing. I totally agree with you that an item like this also tells an important and interesting story, so not to worry about that 😉

Value wise what be the value of such a wing in comparison to correct WW2 models? It doesn't fit my particular collection so I will be moving it.

Let me know when you can! Thanks for your input, its much appreciated!

Kind regards,

Sjors

In my opinion your wings could be WW2 vintage.   received my parachute wings in March 1948 with the same type back pin..........  and your wings seem to have a lot of vintage  ??
