Bill Scott Posted May 8, 2020 #1 Posted May 8, 2020 I can't remember the designation on these two Thanks for your help.Scotty
stratasfan Posted May 8, 2020 #3 Posted May 8, 2020 What does the banner on the bottom of the first one say? Strength through something . . . ? Now, the bottom one . . . I've never seen one so old, but I know the same design, just a modern patch for being a commemorative patch representing a fallen paratrooper.
Longhorn92 Posted May 8, 2020 #4 Posted May 8, 2020 Pocket hanger could be the Americal Division Combat Center. They trained new guys when they arrived in country. I see stars on the right side.
vintageproductions Posted May 8, 2020 #6 Posted May 8, 2020 The winged help and boot is a generic airborne novelty piece. There is a also a Japanese made version, Marines used on tour jackets.
stratasfan Posted May 8, 2020 #7 Posted May 8, 2020 Boy . . . I can't find anything similar to the Combat Center one!
Bill Scott Posted May 8, 2020 Author #8 Posted May 8, 2020 Thanks Bob that's what I thought it might be.Scotty
Siamundo Posted May 10, 2020 #9 Posted May 10, 2020 This doesn't answer your question about the Combat Center patch, but I picked up this small group 25+years ago and had always wondered if it might be related to the 199th Infantry Brigade although I was never able to connect all the dots.
Matt-M Posted May 17, 2020 #10 Posted May 17, 2020 Maybe already known, but the motto is for the 141st Military Intelligence Battalion.
