atb Posted December 8, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2019 A lot of them ended up like this, being reutilized as flower pots or lamp shades. At least it is one of the rejected ones (note the hole punched in the brim).
aef1917 Posted December 8, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2019 I've probably posted this picture before, but here's my pair. The WWI helmet stand is professionally made with cast iron parts and 3 French socket bayonets. I saw an identical one many years ago and still regret not buying it. The M1 is a pretty nice blacksmith piece.

manayunkman Posted December 8, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted December 8, 2019 I could of had it for 15 but let it go. Not my first encounter with one but I thought I would share it with the gang for a laugh.
manayunkman Posted December 8, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted December 8, 2019 It does look rather festive Ron. It could be a large Christmas ornament.

manayunkman Posted December 9, 2019 Author Share #15 Posted December 9, 2019 Thank you for title comments. I found out that the paint was applied before the helmet was made. I’ve seen that chain before but haven’t had the time yet to compare it to my chain inventory. The bails are attached with split cogs.
