dustin Posted May 18, 2014 #1 Posted May 18, 2014 Does anyone here happen to know what army medical dept. Item 91025 Ammonia, Aromatic 1/3 cc is? Pictures would be huge bonus, thank you.
Old Marine Posted May 18, 2014 #2 Posted May 18, 2014 I think they are "Smelling Salts" small glass ammonia capsules. You are supposed to crush the glass capsules releasing the strong ammonia scent and then place it under an unconscious persons nose to revive him. If you do a Google or Yahoo search you should find more information and photos.
dustin Posted May 18, 2014 Author #3 Posted May 18, 2014 I've seen those with Federal Stock Number but was looking for the WWII type with stock number 91025.
dustin Posted May 18, 2014 Author #4 Posted May 18, 2014 I think I have found the answer and the helpful clues lie within the vehicle first aid kits. They list ammonia inhalants 9102500. Several of the contractors use Burroughs Wellcome & Co. P-K V1. This is the correct originals in some kits
robinb Posted May 19, 2014 #5 Posted May 19, 2014 I looked through my medical kits and came up with 6 different boxes. None have the stock number on them.
robinb Posted May 19, 2014 #6 Posted May 19, 2014 But then I checked out my 24 unit Elizabeth Arden kit that is new in the original box. And look what turned up!
usmc grunt Posted June 14, 2021 #8 Posted June 14, 2021 I have a box, made by A.E. Halperin, that contains 4 ampules to be taken orally. It doesn't have a stock number and doesn't list the contents as 4. See photos.
