Martov (Ма́ртов; born Yuliy Osipovich Tsederbaum;[1] 24 November 1873 – 4 April 1923) was a politician and revolutionary who became the leader of the Mensheviks in early 20th-century Russia. He was arguably the closest friend Vladimir Lenin ever had, and was a friend and mentor of Leon Trotsky, who described him as the "Hamlet of Democratic Socialism". patches Posted March 29, 2023 Share #582 Posted March 29, 2023 Pretty good casting Alec Guinness as Prince Faisal in Lawrence Of Arabia. In actuality the role was going to be played by Laurence Olivier, but Olivier dropped out for whatever reason. Guinness as it turned out made a much better Faisal right, so much so that " while shooting in Jordan, he met several people who had known Faisal who actually mistook him for the late prince"
