36-tex Posted June 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2012 I am seeking info on these two patches. The bullion one may be from the 1950's, while the USMC one is from the 1970's.

vintageproductions Posted June 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2012 The end sweep is actually Philippine made. It's tough to find and took me almost twenty years to find one for myself.

MMA10mm Posted July 26, 2013 Share #12 Posted July 26, 2013 Hi Tex, Did you ever get an answer on your First Fleet patch? I found a tiny bit of history. Not 100% confident on its accuracy. Depending on who is describing it, the U.S. First Fleet activated somewhere between 1943 and 1947. It was a Western Pacific unit, at least initially. In 1973, it became the Third Fleet, and no further reference to a US First Fleet thereafter. There is a wiki article on it. Other than a thorough list of commanding officers and a partial list of flagships, not much is there. I'm kind of curious now when 7th Fleet took over WestPac responsibilities.
