rustywings Posted April 30, 2011 Author #81 Posted April 30, 2011 Kind of a neat WWII bullion variant.
rustywings Posted April 30, 2011 Author #83 Posted April 30, 2011 No stars (XXX) in the upper shield. 1930's thru WWII style variant.
rustywings Posted May 1, 2011 Author #86 Posted May 1, 2011 Nice wing Jason! Various bullions certainly age differently. The contrast in patina sure makes for very defined look.
rustywings Posted May 1, 2011 Author #89 Posted May 1, 2011 WWII US Navy bullion Flight Surgeon wing.
rustywings Posted May 1, 2011 Author #90 Posted May 1, 2011 Comparison shot. Please post your bullion variations.
John Cooper Posted May 3, 2011 #91 Posted May 3, 2011 Wow more great additions to this wonderful thread. I have been wanting at least one example of a bullion navy wing but just have not pulled the trigger yet. This post and the fact I have a navy display case next to my desk begging to have some bullion wings. Thanks Russ! John
rustywings Posted May 27, 2011 Author #92 Posted May 27, 2011 I picked up a couple of unusual USN bullion Aviator wings at Bob Chatt's West Coast Militaria Show earlier this month and though I'd share them. Here's a WWII era wing sewn on gray cloth.
rustywings Posted May 27, 2011 Author #94 Posted May 27, 2011 A WWII era example sewn directly onto tan cloth.
rustywings Posted May 27, 2011 Author #96 Posted May 27, 2011 A 1930's bullion Aviator wing with some unique two-tone patina.
navyman Posted June 5, 2011 #98 Posted June 5, 2011 Two wings I pick up recently. I think ww2 era? Jason
so.mostyank Posted June 25, 2011 #99 Posted June 25, 2011 Russ, These two "drop dead gorgeous" beauties are screaming middle to late 1920s to me. So if you ever wish to part with either one you now know who to contact. Cliff Pictured left to right is LCDRs Bruce G. Leighton, and Richard S. Byrd. I AGREE WITH cLIFF THAT THESE 2 SETS ARE PROBABLY MID 20'S..GREAT WITH THE PHOTOS. SO.MOSTYANK
navyman Posted February 11, 2012 #100 Posted February 11, 2012 WWII US Navy Flight Surgeon wing. Pick these Flight Surgeon wings up today. Jason
