Cut down VN tropical coat tailored into M16 mag vest

Here's a couple from Company A 1/508th Infantry 82nd Airborne. Per the wearer's description: "Paul Arca. R.T.O Alfa 1/508 wearing a special vest made by the vietnamese. It came in handy for a radio man. This vest could hold 10 magazines all in the front (200 rounds) He traded a carton of cigarettes for the vest. (not military issue)"

Looks like the man on the right is wearing a vest made from 5.56 bandoleers sewn together.
