cutiger83 Posted October 13, 2012 #1 Posted October 13, 2012 One small item I like to collect is USMC honorable discharge buttons. They vary according to EGA, button on back, and in other ways. Here are the few I have collected so far. ....Kat
cutiger83 Posted October 13, 2012 Author #2 Posted October 13, 2012 Here are the backs. The pin back version has an NS Meyer Hallmark
cutiger83 Posted October 13, 2012 Author #3 Posted October 13, 2012 This is a 1930's variety with a droop wing.
Brig Posted October 13, 2012 #6 Posted October 13, 2012 nice pins. The pinbacks were generally issued to females who don't tend to have button holes on their lapels. I, too, hold onto these when I get a variant. Think I have 7 or 8, will have to check if any are different than yours and post them here. There are actually quite a few variants, and some can bring 20-30 bucks each, if not more, at auction
cutiger83 Posted October 13, 2012 Author #7 Posted October 13, 2012 The pinbacks were generally issued to females who don't tend to have button holes on their lapels. Brig, I did not know the pin back were for women. Thanks for the info! Also, thanks for the new one in my collection! ...Kat

uplandmod Posted October 14, 2012 #10 Posted October 14, 2012 Very nice Kat! Didn't know of the many variations! Leonardo
cutiger83 Posted October 15, 2012 Author #11 Posted October 15, 2012 Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I can't afford helmets and other high priced items so I LOVE little USMC items like this. It is interesting trying to find variations. Thanks again....Kat
Brig Posted October 19, 2012 #12 Posted October 19, 2012 here are some of mine, as promised, minus one I got in today. One of the typical WWII ones is marked AE Co Utica, and the Reserve is marked Bastian Brothers
Fly USMC Posted October 20, 2012 #14 Posted October 20, 2012 Great thread and pictures. Kat and Brig, Thanks for posting. I will see if I have any different ones an eventually post them.
Jack's Son Posted October 20, 2012 #15 Posted October 20, 2012 I would imagine that there is a pin back that is Pink.
manayunkman Posted October 20, 2012 #16 Posted October 20, 2012 I would imagine that there is a pin back that is Pink. I didn't know you were a Marine ?

Brig Posted October 20, 2012 #18 Posted October 20, 2012 I would imagine that there is a pin back that is Pink. Why would you imagine that?
