vintageproductions Posted July 26, 2007 #21 Posted July 26, 2007 Ricardo- Maybe you can answer a question I have about the metal Brasil snak e patch. I have handled the Italian hand embroidered variants, had a Italian made bullion at one time, numerous of the green woven shields, but those painted metal ones have thrown me. I see in your photos there are two or three in the museum displays, but how were they worn? Were they just quickly hand stitched in the corners? Had never seen any for sale, then about a year or two ago on Ebay a seller had a few out of Brazil. Thank you in advance for any info. Bob

Thank you in advance for any info.Bob Hi Bob, The metal badge of brazilian "Smoking Cobra" had been made in Italy in 1945 and distributed for the Brazilian troops in the embarkment for the return for Brazil. Some brazilians soldiers and officers received a pair of metal badges and others had only received one. In interviews with veterans, several had said me that never they had received the metal badges. Some American sailors who had made the transport of the Brazilians earned some metal badges. I looked at an image in a photo album of a brazilian veteran appearing a group of Brazilians with U.S. sailors and these sailors had "Smoking Cobra" metal badges in the hands. If I not me deceit, these badges had been made in Milan. Maybe the Cesar (CCMAX) must have other complementary informations. Best regards, Ricardo.
