Recently acquired these two wings.  A Balloon pilot and a Blimp/Dirigible pilot.  I must clarify I'm not a wing collector, main interest is WWII Aviation uniforms and flight gear. So thought I'd seek out opinions from our Forum's more experienced collectors.  Came in a large lot of insignia so seller was not attempting to pull the wool over my eyes.  They are not cast and the pins open 90 degrees.  I know those two factors are not definitive but did give me an once of hope.  Thanks for looking and any help appreciated.

Would the pins marked Shold-R-Form with the reversed shield and marked Sterling also WW2?

Incredibly sad news. Eric was always kind to ask and answer questions to further the hobby. Eric was above approach in all conversations and dealings. If he knew I was interested in something that I asked his opinion he would not bid on it, even if he was interested in it. Our hobby lost a legend. Rest in peace. I just wish I could have found your bullion dog handler scroll. 

I know there was a rumor of guys from 2/11th Cavalry burying their berets in a box under the flagpole of Daley Barracks, but I recall they found nothing when the area was excavated as part of land redevelopment in the 2000s. Still, the fact that such a rumor existed says a lot about how much the berets meant to the armored cavalry at the time.

Sorry, i may have invented my own term here 😂 You see, in Norway we have the word " kniv skaft" or just "skaft" that referes to the "handle" of something, in this case " kniv skaft"  means "knife handle". I guess i thought that "skaft" translated to "scaft" in English or something, and that it was a common word outside of Norway too, but i guess not.   At least i got to teach a cool Norwegian word :)

Stefan- I saw one of these years ago, made from an M3 trench knife.  What do you mean by the "shaft" ?  Are you talking about the "tang" that runs through the handle. Don't recall  the term of shaft before.  Please clarify. Thanks.  SKIP

Yes, most likely a replacement. This is pretty common with Vietnam War medals (apparently a lot of medals had gotten lost/ discarded).   Fred
