Hello RG, The patch is indeed for the Anti Aircraft Command.. If you provide the name of the individual, we may be able to help with research Leigh -

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Hello Pieter, nice collection of Rangers items, thanks for sharing. I'll make a detour to the Carentan shop in June. Best regards, Jo -

This might be a long shot, since the shoulder patch in this image is only barely visible. I'm trying to identify the unit for the very elderly brother of this soldier. I have no information about him other than his name, the fact that he may have come ashore on Omaha Beach on D+1 or D+2, and that he may have served (or enlisted with) another local soldier who was part of the 391st Armored Field Artillery (AA). Don't know if this is an Anti-Aircraft Command patch or something else entirely. -

Looks like a commercially-made bullet lighter: About the size of a lipstick tube. -

My grandfather served in WW II. He started and trained as a medic, finished as a Infantry Staff Sergeant. Looking through some things my Memaw had put away from his time in the service. It's his notebook from his medical training. Every page there, intact. First page dated 10-18-43. All his handwritten notes from training. "Blast wounds, wounds" to "spider bites" and "blood pressure". Just curious if there's a lot of this type thing out there? I'm just amazed at this. -
