Picked it up from an older Vietnam vet at a different flea market last Saturday for 10 bucks. A little rough but the zipper still works and I'll display it with my Korean era jackets.

I see a Korean War Marine Corps suit bag - I have my Dad's issued in 1951.

Are there any other features of the original Mitchel that make it easy to distinguish from copies (aside from the fact that they are typically new and unused)?

Red arrow pointing to stitching on seam (two parallel lines of stitching).     Blue arrows pointing to where the camo pattern differs.

In WWII, there were no US Army Male Nurses.  First one didn't come in until 1955.   Need to study basic GI uniforms and gear.   Everyone pretty much wore the standard OD Uniform - shirt, tie, trousers, service shoes, overseas cap.. The dress jacket would depend on time frame. Overall it was the 4 pocket service jacket.  Mid-1944 - to the end, the Ike jackets took over.
