I thought I would post this WWII chit that belonged to my Dad. My dad, Lt Robert T Cronau, Jr, flew in the CBI theater in the First Combat Cargo group during May and June of 1945 and later in the Philippines. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his CBI service. I found this chit and 10 of the double-sided survival maps in his things. Haven't figured out where to post those yet. I remember "playing" with the maps when I was little! I believe all of them are printed on Rayon. The maps have a range of dates on them from 1943-1945. This particular chit seems to have more languages that many that I have seen. I believe it is authentic but it has no serial numbers or other markings. -

So the upper part of the slot is 1/4", the "turn" is 3/8", overall slot length is 1 5/8" I didn't see any evidence of a locking ring. There is kind of a matching divot on each side of the top of the socket. I don't know if that is significant or just the way it rusted. -

I can’t figure it out either. But it doesn’t have a locking ring so I think it’s definitely pre-Civil War. Maybe Revolution - War of 1812 period? I’m no expert, but the shape of the slot is important here. mikie -

Can someone please help with identifying this M1 helmet camo? I dont think it's woodland camo but I may be wrong. I got it with a lot I bought of some vietnam era items. I did notice there is writing on the front but all I could make out was the bottom line: USMC.
