I would have trust issues with any of these items. Most of the fund items I have seen are now in shadow boxes with a mix of period and modern items along with the fund "card". While not only easy to replicate for profit, but many items from higher profile vets are also not their own period-worn items. Didn't someone say that Gunther Rall gave away 100s of his wings over the years? I, personally, have been given things by vets that were "the same as what I used" but not their actual issued items. This wasn't deception yet I found this out only when inquiring the back stories. That's still an honor but not really valued beyond what the same item, unnamed, would bring. If there were letters/affidavits describing the wings as, "These wings were worn while I was...", etc. it might be a different story. If they were a unique maker or style of AAF wing, that would be why I bought any of them. They aren't. I agree that the main value of these items is the autographs. Those though are often not very valuable because these same guys signed lots of things at airshows, reunions, etc. not to mention thousands of limited edition prints.   NOW, based on a comparison of autographs from the cards and the prints, they all three have some fairly critical differences. I'm no analyst, and our signatures morph over the years, but some of those, either on the cards or on the prints, appear to be proxy signatures. Am I the only one noticing that?      JMO, Dave

It’s clear that you are intelligent, and a good writer.  I think it would be good if you stuck around.  In my humble opinion, it takes a little while to get acclimated - it surely did for me.     I think you have a lot to offer, and your enthusiasm is evident - which goes a long way.     You will be fine.

Paul, Welcome to the forum. If you post this knife in that sub forum, you will get eyes on it from those who specialize in knives. Secondly, the SSN is likely a service number(if military). You can post that here without concern. We have members who are very good at finding vets based on SNs. Welcome aboard, Dave

I wrote this essay for school, some of you might not like it, but read it :)        Today, we will be taking a look at what makes ice different from a mean grumpy person! You might be wondering… “Wait, ice? And a stubborn hard person??? I see all the differences!!!” NO! We’ll also take a look at how they compare, meaning all the similarities!      So! What is ice? Ice is a solid barrier of crust that forms on the outside of the water. And why is that so like a grumpy human who has nothing left good to say? We’ll explain that in a minute! Right after explaining what a “grumpy dan” is! A grumpy person is a crotchety grouchy cranky crabby irascible testy touchy CANTANKEROUS ornery CURMUDGEON human like substance with almost like a hard shell, resisting any truth or knowledge from entering its hardened heart. People like this are all around, maybe not in ways shapes or forms like you might think. A common type of these is widely known as the “Karen”.      People like this are all around, resisting wisdom and knowledge to better understand what their lives are missing. They need the Lord in their souls, the way the truth and the life is only through the Father. These kinds of people are missing that, they’re missing what Jesus did for them on that cross, that Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice so you wouldn’t have to. He GAVE you all a CHANCE, but these people just don’t want to hear it. THEY want to be right, in THEIR mind, THEY can save THEMSELVES! And because of this, THEY despise truth, THEY don’t want anything to do with THEMSELVES being wrong, and that applies to EVERYONE!!! To be humble is to accept this knowledge, to believe this, take it in, and apply it. The grumps can closely be defined as a rock for now obvious reasons. [I DON’T WANT YOU TO READ THIS JUST TO READ IT, READ, THINK, AND APPLY.] You heard earlier that a rock is like a crabby person because rocks are hard, right? Well turns out people are just as hard when they let the truth just bounce away. It’s like ice and water, when you throw a tiny pebble in a pond of water, it goes through the surface and sinks; like the information someone accepts, it sinks in. The ice is like a barrier on a stubborn person which prevents the pebble/information from sinking in.      THERE IS HOPE!!! When deeply thinking, they are alike. But when side to side, appearance takes it away. A human is a being created in the image of God, while ice, it’s just a solid matter of creation without soul. Let’s stick to the critical thinking though!   That's it so far bye (FOR GOOD NOW).
