I don’t see anything to suggest it’s not original.  The 101st combat patch is most probably for Vietnam (based on the lower  rank, I doubt it was for WW2 service) so a single award of the CIB is correct (one award per war) That missing name tape really hurts the value.  Based on that, the price is too high.

Bumping this old thread, This is another WWII pattern HBT shirt that was modified to be a M1947 pattern.   If has the typical tack-on 13-star metal buttons. Looks like it originally had the large, pleated type pockets. The stitching pulled and re-sewn. The collar cut and repaired. The button adjustable cuffs have cut off and replaced too. E4 Rank and 3rd Armored Division DUI, name tape removed. The pocket marker info tag is gone.

. hi earlymb   As you have been doing a full restoration why not go ahead and buy a full set of body bolts about 33 euros from Jeeps and more in Holland, they also show all the fixing positions, they don't appear to sell the star washers though as part of the kit, but the diagram I added below of the chassis fixings show where they are all needed.            Norman D. Is this a modified A2? The leather chin straps look factory.. like a M4 but has the goggle straps    either way, A2s are common enough to leave this as is.. especially if modified during its service life

Hi Ken,   I know of the pal nuts and I have a few, but I don't know yet if I can/will use them. I'm still puzzling about the correct sizes of the various body-to-frame bolts as the TM is a bit unclear here, but I think I have most of the required bolts... Be it in UNF thread rather than UNC, and then the pal nuts won't fit.   I haven't decided yet if I should order a complete set (in UNC) from a parts dealer or just some UNF nuts as I don't have enough of these for a full set.

this is supposed to have 4 cans in it from what I know

I was thinking around $500 given the cost of individual cans being about $80 or so nowadays, this has 4 in it. Figure the extra $180 accounts for the crate

I could easily sell it for a lot more and I plan to tbh. I don't collect sealed stuff but I know other collectors would be interested
