WOW!!! aznation. All I found is that he was a retired school teacher. Your fantastic research ability shows he was not an idle fella, quite impressive actually. I can't thank you enough! What a pleasure to read. Thanks again -

This is part of a large group I recently acquired. I've never seen one of these. Was it common for him to sign citations? -

This isn't a reunion pic, this is the Soo Drum and Bugle Corps from Sault Ste Marie Michigan. The medals are most likely VFW and American Legion medals. These guys wore WWI Army uniforms to perform, though some were Navy, some served on the Mexican border, some stateside, and some over there. There is a documentary about them returning to perform in France in the 70s and I believe this pic is from that. We have some of their items in Michigan's Military Heritage Museum. Also note the Canadian helmets as the Soo is a border city with Soo Ontario. Scott -

I’ll need to see if I can find recipes for these menu items. Not sure I want to find the one for Stalin Soup. But I could fill up my tank with some Patton Potatoes. Whatever that is. mikie -

Hi Ken, great find! Those markings are attributed to the USMC post war. I have seen several examples. It is possibly an 'S' under the triangle. Unfortunately I am yet to crack these codes! The 'tankers' cold weather jackets were stencilled in the same way. Cheers Graham
