I'm thinking this is an original Indian War era belt with a Civil War era plate. The rivets and round wire adjustment hook plus the plate keeper not being numbered. I've been wrong plenty, but look up 1872+ army belts. Still a very nice rig!

Thank You for all the replies and help.  When I had the knife in hand, it looked like there is a lot of dark bluing on it.  Again, thanks for all the help.   Rocky

I have looked around and have found other badges by the same unknown maker except they did not have the rings and one had the pin and the other was a screwback. Thanks for your help!!!!

I just watched a similar L77 go for $425 in an auction (less than an hour ago), plus 23% buyers premium, tax, postage etc.  It had a blued blade that didn't convince me was original blueing and a modern leather sheath.  Your pictures aren't great but I'd say $300 is a good price for an L77 in decent shape.  I actually paid more than that at SOS a couple years ago for a nice one like yours with a bakelite pommel.  Actually looking at yours again, looks like it might be a worn blued blade, hard to tell but still a very nice knife.   Lance

My name is Jeremiah Strickland Sr. I live in South Carolina and I am 46 years old. I am a Minister and a Freemason. I have always had a very deep respect for all soldiers but more especially for World War II soldiers. I have been researching my Great Uncle who served in the USAAF and went to Camp Forrest in 1942. I love the B-24 Liberators.
