Beautiful helmet! Congrats. Not an expert either, but that's an early Schlueter and the Hawley liner is obviously very early WW2.  Who knows?   

That print quality is great, looks really good. I myself have just gotten a 3D printer and been messing around with it, I’ve learned fusion 360 to be able to make more detailed models for 1/35 and 1/48 scale models including some Jerry cans, tank stowage, and I’m currently working on designing a printable Fokker D VIII. Looks really great. Do you have a picture of it in a holster yet?

Hello robinb,   I thought the same, and from what is available online, the cases were used to store the SMG in a vehicle.  Definitively not smart to store it when in combat.   Drew
