And this WW2 color photo shows this kind of sign in use during embarkation of the 1st Division in England... I recreated the sign on an original plate and stand for my war building...

Note the metal four legged stand with metal info plate used by MP troops to the left of the sand bag pit... you don't see that many around nowadays... Here's one from my collection...

I kept these photos of a WW2 Merchant Marine jumper as well as a black and white period photo of two WW2 era Merchant Marine sailors wearing their jumpers.  However my father served in the Merchant Marines during WW2 and I remember him telling me that the only time he ever wore those jumpers was during the time he spent attending the US Maritime School at Saint Petersburg, Florida.

I'm not really finding anybody by the name "Winslow Henkle" as far as medically related or even WWI related.  Sorry.  Perhaps someone else can find something.  There's a chance that Winslow was a middle name and he went by that but we would pretty much need to know his first name if that were the case.

Hi everyone, Is there any evidence of Merchant Marines wearing standardized or dress uniforms, similar to those seen in WWII?
