Interesting vehicles. Even if you posted about Peeps a week ago, it would be debatable if I would remember it today. My memory was never all that great but between long Covid and my concussion, it is getting terrible recently.  The first thing I think of about peeps are the traditional Easter marshmallow treats. They come in all shapes and colors, but the original were yellow baby chicks, “peep peep” ! Kids love them, but one piece has enough sugar in it to send me into a coma.  mikie  

It is a fantastic artifact...the Chevrons and Diamonds Collection focus is entirely on baseball in the armed forces (and a significant component of the Iron Man Trophy). LIFE Magazine Photographers George Silk (R) and Carl Mydans outside of Rome, Italy - June 4, 1944 Between the both of them they would take over 6,000 pictures during the Italian Campaign of WW2. Carl Mydans (20 May 1907 – 16 August 2004) worked for LIFE Magazine from 1936 -1972. In 1942 Mydans and his wife Shelley were captured by the Japanese in the Philippines before being released as part of an exchange of civilian and diplomatic personnel in December 1943. George Silk (17 November 1916 – 23 October 2004) was a New Zealand-born Photographer. He started as a combat cameraman for the Australian government in 1939, and was captured by German forces in Tobruk, but escaped 10 days later. He worked for LIFE Magazine from 1943 to 1972 and was wounded in 1945 by a grenade dropped by a German Prisoner during the Rhine crossing. LIFE Magazine Archives WWP-PD
