Today while roaming a local militaria booth I go to often in a antique store, I came across this scrape book. The name appears to be Ben W. Covington. -

Can someone identify if this is real and worn by USN pilot Lt John Hudson? W27099. He was awarded the navy cross for sinking a Japanese ship during the battle of Leyte. Thanks -

Thanks again for all the help. I'm wrapping up my research document and can't find the ASN's for a few that you listed above. Any chance you have those on hand? I'm looking for Franklin Walker and Teddy Wiater. Thanks! -

Oh Man! When I see those 90mm-120mm all lined up I cringe of the "carnage" that would take place if they tipped over. Wouldn't go near the spot w/o Steel Toe Boots! Nice Assortment! -

They show up from time to time and if your a military sports collector or a specific ship of fleet collector they are excellent things to own. As Steve said above sports competitions were big in the pre war military. I have two North China boxing belts/ buckles for Army, Navy, and Marine competitors. On the back of your belt buckle is there any markers stamp or mark….is the belt center part silver ? If a local maker, ie Chinese it will most likely have more value as Chinese silver is collectible….if you can tie the winner to a specific ship that also would increase value….particularly if the ship in this case has a storied history in Asiatic waters (we are talking Sand Pebbles gunboats or the USS Houston etc). -
