I would have to take exception to this. Many US sweetheart jewelry items were cast - see below for two common examples.

This is the front seam. Read the post

Sounds like a fun project! I would suggest trying the g503.com forums as well, they cater to all sorts of military vehicles not just jeeps.

Bgurth3, The link I sent you on my KW helmet is correct for that M1C. The rear seem manganese rim with the wire buckle Westinghouse is very late WW2 and nothing I have found indicates they were used in WW2. The paint on the helmet is WW2. It was not repainted for Korea. That is a IDed combat worn helmet, read the post. I will look for my post on the front seam manganese rim.

Thank you for the added pictures.  I don't think it is government work.  Pockets possibly shortened for shorter rounds.  Not sure what the other buttons could be for.  Thanks for sharing.

Sad news. May he rest in peace. I remember he and his father, Bob from the Great Western Shows in the late 1980s.

Wow, you guys never disappoint.  The Pederson Device pouch doesn’t really fit my collection but I really like the grenade launcher case.  I’ll fill it out with a piece of PVC for my display.  thank you gentlemen!   Tom

I'm a member of a Southern Appalachian medical history research consortium.  Our archive and museum has very limited scope.   We received a donation of a collection of Letterman Hospital monthly newsletters entitled The Fog Horn that were published during World War II.  These are from the personal estate of an Army nurse who was employed there.   We haven't done an inventory of the dates.   The newsletters are available on-line at the Internet Archive -- https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A"Letterman+Hospital"   We'd like to sell these to raise money for our Appalachian nursing museum.  But, we don't know where or in what groupings/lots would be best.   If someone has a suggestion, we'd be grateful.

The JKash thread I was referring to earlier… those are some killer helmet OP! Yes, M1C’s have been debated over many times I’m going to choose not to say anything since I don’t want anyone to pop in here and say otherwise and hijack the topic. So I recommend you use the search function and search up M1C, theres plenty of good topics on them and there use in Varsity here in the forum.

True, but I think the evidence is stacked in the raider side. So congratulations you found a raider uniform in the wild!
