Another Slat Grille restoration project started A Jeeping friend in London has started stripping his Slat Grille for restoration, it's in need of a new front floor section, a new wiring harness and minor other repairs and replacements. Hi favourite trunk-monkey is helping him with the work, as last week they were repairing the garage roof at the trunk-monkeys place to keep his Jeep nice and dry. Norman D. From my initial search everything I can find out about police and/or prison guards from the 1920'-30's is that their belts, holsters pouches seem to be black and not brown. I'm leaning more towards state guard unit or honor guard. Ken -

As you know Kurt, as new or newer Soldiers barring any feats of Derring-do that would see an award, of the Soldiers Medal or Air Medal, even the Distinguished Flying Cross, or doing something that was fantastically outstanding to merit an ARCOM, the awarding of an ARCOM being particularly rare then, we didn't wear anything till the summer of 1981, the beginning of it then, the Overseas and Army Service ones, -

Your pair of so called early type "kissing skulls" enlisted SF grp beret badges look ok to me. I'm not so sure about the beret flash as I shy away from anything that has that type of light green backing material due to its use with copies referred to as Pittsenbaugher reproductions. I don't have the expertise to make the call on this one but others on the forum will let you know. Although not exactly like your flash here is an example of a 5th SF Grp Pittsenbaugher fake ( link below). -
