Very nice find! Here's an example of the 743rd DUI worn by my Great-Granduncle, Pfc. Raymond E. Naughton of Company A. -

Just a thought. Maybe it is posthumously awarded and placed on the uniform for recognition for being from Ohio. -

At first I wished to have it repaired. I spoke with two local restaurators they told me it would be expensive complex and the chance of colors not exactly matching up would be large. So I plan to leave it as it is. I do concider to have it cleaned if that is worthwile. Yes it took me over 1,5 year to find this one on ebay and win the auction. Especially the fact that it is a sterling and from dondero made it worth to me. Thank you for the link will scan it for the names. Regards, Remi -

Sorry I posted twice. The second one has the auction link. These look legitimate and they have provenance but would love to hear from the experts. -

And here it is. Washed down with alcohol, Renaissance Wax applied, placed in my big bore line up. -

I found a local auction that is selling dog tags and some have provenance. Should I buy them all? https://newtownauctiongallery.hibid.com/lot/294642097/-2--world-war-1-dog-tag--local--luther-w-mills-?ref=catalog -
