      LIFE Magazine Photographers George Silk (R) and Carl Mydans outside of Rome, Italy - June 4, 1944 Between the both of them they would take over 6,000 pictures during the Italian Campaign of WW2. Carl Mydans (20 May 1907 – 16 August 2004) worked for LIFE Magazine from 1936 -1972. In 1942 Mydans and his wife Shelley were captured by the Japanese in the Philippines before being released as part of an exchange of civilian and diplomatic personnel in December 1943. George Silk (17 November 1916 – 23 October 2004) was a New Zealand-born Photographer. He started as a combat cameraman for the Australian government in 1939, and was captured by German forces in Tobruk, but escaped 10 days later. He worked for LIFE Magazine from 1943 to 1972 and was wounded in 1945 by a grenade dropped by a German Prisoner during the Rhine crossing. LIFE Magazine Archives WWP-PD

It’s been a long time since I read about Balls Bluff. Other than creating the Committee On the Conduct of the War, it was pretty meaningless, other than wrecking General Stone’s career.🙁   hoping to get a discussion going , but I’m thinking this site is dedicated to collecting, which I don’t have any interest in.       A question comes to mind, did Bomber  P1/P2/P3 (or officers) get a choice of A-2 or B-3 jackets or get both?  Second question  did the fighter pilots just get the A-2?
