Bolt and oprod are all original USGI parts. One of the earlier production rifles from the 80s. I have it in a different chassis right now but I figure I'd post it here -

I acquired this in a large collection I bought. I assumed it was Victorian era British. I finally had a chance to examine it and was surprised to find that it has buttons marked PENNa and what I am pretty sure is "NG". The maker label is Horstmann, Philadelphia and the buttons are Horstmann, Philadelphia marked. The label is named althpugh I am struggling to make it out. And it appears to be dated "3/7 1902". I was surprised to find a dress jacket of this style being used in the early 1900s, other than ceremonial groups. Just wondering if anyone could tell me more about it? Anything remotely similar I found online was 1850s - Civil War era. Thabks for any info. -
