      I'm actually looking for two SCS collar discs for a living history impression of a CCC camp commander.  The camp commanders were U.S. Army officers in the Organized Reserve and would wear collar discs of a sponsoring organization.  My impression will be that of a captain at SCS-6/Camp 836 next to Fort Stanton State Historic Site, New Mexico.  The uniform patch will be the pre-WWII Organized Reserve 103rd Division, two of which I'm also on the hunt for (the patch colors and design are slightly different than the WWII 103rd Division patch)

      Did they also sell wings? When you come back and answer my question, that will be two posts. Everytime you answer a question... ask a question... comment on something make a post of your own here like you have done etc etc your post count goes up. If you find something that interests you on the forum.... make a comment on it. Ask questions etc etc.. You will get to 30 in no time. For example.. my post here on your thread is my 3949th post on this forum. Cheers! Dave

      And this is your first dio? Wow, thanks for sharing it here! I love all the detail especially the goggles of the crew. Carrier, soldiers and the signpost seem to be an exact copy of the photo; a stunning artwork. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.

      I got this in and its a beaut!!! Opens fine.. No rattle when shaken... Its in great shape. Sharp. I tried to purchase one from a well known militaria dealer. It was not as nice as this one and they wanted a little more than I paid for this one. They would not sell it to me because I live in Illinois. I told them to check the laws. It legal in Illinois to own and even carry a switchblade if you have a FOID card. They would not sell it though. Yes, if you have a Firearms Owners ID Card in Illinois you can own and carry a switchblade.

      We are newly registered, so I am experimenting to see if this counts as our #1 POST to achieve 30 posts. Our parents owned an ARMY-NAVY store in San Diego during the war.  Most everything was boxed up in 1946 <?>. We 3 sisters started going through it maybe 25 (? ) years ago.  Newspapers in which some inventory was bundled were dated l946.  Here is a photo of the store on lower Broadway.  The 'tall' building in the background was the Salvation Army.  If this passes muster, we will be adding additional information.  Thank you, Donna Wosk { { {. If this does Not constitute a Post,  Please let us know . . .how to.  I loathe computers ! } } }
