I had the privilege of seeing the bronze mastiff head that earned the Marines the nickname "Devil's Dogs" during the fierce fighting at Belleau Wood. Do you know where I could find information on a Marine named E.F. Hamilton who must have been part of the Marine Corps in the years 1915/1920? God Bless America

Hope i put this in the right place. Don't know what this is but for $10 figured I could put it to use. Guy I bought it from said shotgun MOLLE bag but something seems off like it is a part of a kit since it has no tags but haven't been able to identify what kit it may of been a part of. The open NEXUS clips and the pouch dividers make me think it was part of a lit and maybe a bag for flash bangs, flares or smoke grenades?

Well, my memory failed me.  I thought I purchased it in a footlocker.  But, the footlocker it is in reads: POW TRINIDAD CO.  Our hero was not a Trinidad POW.  :)     But, yes.  I consider myself lucky.  Actually, and honestly, undeserving.  Which is why I want it donated and preserved.

More likely a dummy round.

This was in the bottom of the box of artifacts from his Vietnam deployment (Infantry). I've heard stories about incoming rounds being stopped by gear, etc. What are the odds that this round stopped an incoming round & was kept as a memento? The missing primer makes sense, but the dent and perfectly round, perfectly centered hole through only one casing wall make me suspect. Then again, I've never been shot at. Have any of you seen (or experienced) this sort of thing before?
