Does anyone have a USMC officer’s visor hat with a brown visor instead of black? Were these pre-WWII? I’m not referring to the WWI era bell crown visors, but something that I believe may have been worn in the 1930s. Please post a photo if possible. Thanks! -

Thank you Blacksmith. These are out of my wheelhouse entirely. I was a little concerned because it seems in rather great condition although there are a few stains on it. I appreciate the help! -

Thank you for the compliments! I was inspired by my military service and fellow Ordnance Officers Charles Pate and Charlie Flick. I also have learned a lot from Kevin Williams. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" -

You might want to check a map and see how close the different mission named locations are (BG website vs his map) e.g. Mission on 3 Jan 45: Bruhl is just south of Hermulheim, so likely same mission. Not sure about why he did not note all the missions shown on the BG website. Dan -

Bought this studio photo, family lore states that he and his brother were stationed in H.I. and on 7 Dec 41 he steps out of the chapel and sees the subs leaving port during the attack and says that is what I want to do. And so goes family stories. I have seen his obit, but the photo speaks of an Cheif Machinest Mate with Gold rating badge ie 12 Yrs service taken at a San Francisco studio. My take is a pre war photo with an early hat device. No ribbons and possibly an 8 button jacket. Any additional help is appreciated in advance
