I've searched the ABMC site worldwide and found no result for Robert Cheever. I've also searched Europe and the U.S. on FindAGrave with no results.  I can only speculate that since he was temporarily buried at Son en Breugel in the Netherlands, he was either left there accidentally, or lost somehow in transit to a permanent cemetery. He possibly may have been misidentified when found originally, but that is doubtful. From everything I have read, the Graves Registration men were very meticulous in both identification and final burial details. Sadly, his final resting place may never be known. Rest in Peace, Robert Lee Cheever.     Steve

You guys are obviously the SME's on lighters!  Any insight on this "Buyrite" Americal Division lighter?  I have had it for probably 30+ years.   Any insight is greatly appreciated.     Thanks in advance,   OD

The closest I found has just a circle without the dot in the center.   Motorized printing detachment.

Does anyone know what the tactical symbol stands for?   I can’t find anything online.

Here's a infamous copy helmet that which has to date, literally sold alot of on the infamous auction site. The MBU 12 is not fake. The unique feature is that the maker appears to have copied a size medium HGU 22 quarter shell based helmet for his build instead of - like much of the available field of fake helmets, and these dimensions are very close. Installing the HGU/APH edge roll on it certainly proved that assumption. Decal installation was wrong but, what can you say, it's close enough.... Things that will enhance this specific shell if you decide to opt in and save 1000.00+ spent for a "real deal" copy to set on your mantel and look at. 1-I had the used, spare leather "snap in" edge roll laying about and decided to remove the rubber edge bead (risky at first) and install in its place. 2-Then I installed a good set of O2 receivers, 3-a good visor, 4- black chin and nape straps, 5-black leather HGU ear cups and completed it with comms. I don't know if Toms helmet had the plastic ear cups or leather and I don't imagine that it matters. Still need to install a styrene liner and TPL or get lucky and find a black percentile liner and I'll be done.  All in all,...me like it! ;-) These still pop up now and again and if your into tinkering with "stuff", this product of fantasy might provided some good entertainment. Although it's a fake copy from China, with certain parts enhancements, it can be made really nice and at home collecting dust and loosing value with the rest of those inanimate ornaments of hollyweird history,...and cheap!.  This will be my last transmission on this website. Cheers and good luck to all

I got these from a house clean out.   Someone told me that they could be useful to military vehicle collectors?   What do you think?

I would appreciate some help identifying and dating these USMC rings.   So far, I have managed to identify only one of them: 1.1942 Lone Ranger Marine Corps “secret compartment” ring 2. EGA ring — date unknown. It seems rather large for a women’s ring, but I have not come across this particular design in period photographs. 3. Tun Tavern 1775 - Iwo Jima 1945 ring, date unknown. I have seen this design before, but the stone is usually red, whereas mine is purple. I could not find any maker’s marks or hallmarks inside the rings.   I would be grateful for any help in determining whether these rings are original and, if so, what period they date from.

All of these AMC issues for France are Series 1944, including those issued during 1945:   Dan
