This is how one winds up collecting specific units I'm guessing...I normally collect AAF related uniforms from the ETO. -

I was born in the Detroit area (Birmingham) and although I moved from very young, i went back frequently to see family until about the mid-90's. The north had de facto segregation and racism was prevalent in the north as in the south. As a child i remember hearing stories about "block busters" trying to integrate and violent clashes with locals resisting integration b/c it affected property values. Racism was not just a southern problem, that is for certain. But slavery had to go. John Brown was right to say it was a stain on the nation that could only be washed away with blood. Did the 13th and 14th amendments create utopia? end regional conflict? create a color blind society? No, certainly not. Far from it. But chattel slavery was so obviously cruel and wrong that it had no defense. Yet, a lot of people north and south bought into the notion that it was God's will and divine plan that white people own black people. I believe Robert E. Lee himself said words to that effect. It will always be a stain on this nation and it had to go. I do not believe that we were destined for the civil war or that it was fought over slavery, but without the civil war slavery might still be legal in the United States. -

Hello I recently acquired a group of items from a US Lt Col in WW2. Part of the group were these two visor hats. Would the lighter hat be considered a crusher type? It is maker marked: B. Pasquale & co 654 Mission st San Francisco Calif. and is marked on the sweatband Tailored by Maler, The green visor label is missing, I cannot see any other maker mark. Thank you -

Didn't some personnel of the 326th AB Med Co eventually end up in the PTO, I could be miss remembering though. An observation though that makes more sense with Tonomachi comment, I once had a shirt and cut down 4 pocket both patched with 11AB ssi, that was most likely worn during occupational period and post war. The jacket had wings very similar to this too. -
