There's only one lace supplied.  Seems to work now that I followed the instructions better and got all of the eyelets.

20 years ago they were common and cheap. No more.

Good man! As I expected. Thanks much for the info. I barely collect swords to begin with, but this one may be going in the 'for sale' pile. Really only interested in 33-65. Again thank you Dragoon!

So after 12 years I finally been able to decipher the back of this photograph kind of neat   Latter part of Aug. 1944   Front: Cpl. Steinbrenner   1st Row: Tommy, Brown, White Myself   2nd Row: Cpl. Nohlman, Stewart Pfc. Kelly, Albrecht, Benya, Pfc. Hietela A., T/3 Zepnick   Standing: Johnson   The toughest beachhead in France. U.S. Rangers landed here on the morning of June 6th. We landed about 1 mile from them.   This is St. Pierre du Mont. Ocean just behind edge cliff, 100 ft. high.

Dyslexic?  It's also spelled New Zealand. He did make a good try though!  Thanks         Steve

Wow. I'd say $40 was a great price! I couldn't leave it there for that much either. I'd bet it's wartime-made that's a guess. It's a nice one for sure. I've never owned the larger flags. I wonder how big they are when folded? Dave

I concur that the uniform in question is all well and good.  A few more examples as mentioned above and I have seen others.  Collecting all the variations would make a neat US Navy grouping.  Cheers Armygas

156 - Lindsay, Julian R. Captain, Cavalry. It looks like he was a regular officer vs US Volunteers.   Bill

I recently joined this site as a new member, and I live in West Virginia. My father-in-law was Otto Kurt Schultz, Jr.  He was a World War II paratrooper, and the 551st participated in the liberation of Provence, France jumping into LaMotte in August, 1944.  He was wounded in January, 1945 in the Battle of the Bulge.  His biography and photo appear in the hardcover book 82nd Airborne Division published in 1997 by Turner Publishing Company.   I inherited some militaria that has been in storage for two decades.  I would welcome suggestions on finding serious and reputable buyers.  I appreciate guidance from others who have had positive first-hand experiences selling military stuff.  Has anyone done business with the advertisers on this forum?   I’ve used a specialized auction house previously (for a stamp collection) and wasn’t too impressed, and e-Bay has its own issues.   I have a grouping of original, early-war USAAF pilot/aircrew parachute components (main canopy, pilot chute, harness assembly, parachute back cushion/seat pad) that I will be posting pictures of (soon) in the Aviation Clothing and Equipment section.  Anyway, thanks for a reply and glad to be here!

Does the family have the Bronze Star and Purple Heart planchet? I noticed they aren't in the frame.
