Thank you for the information.  I appreciate it.  I am working on more information on the veteran to hopefully fill in his service record.  It appears he was inducted in 1941, as a second LT. Per his obituary, he served in several theaters of operation during the war, discharging in 1947 as a Lt. Col.

Yep, got a GI Scarf at CIF at Wainwright with the rest of that plentiful TA-50 we got, for me this being July 1981.   Were you permanent party people, or TDY

My friend Hayes Otoupalik’s collecting passion is Civil War and particularly Confederate firearms. On a visit a few years ago he showed me which I’m pretty sure is maybe the crown jewel of his collection an 1861 .36 caliber Confederate revolver made by T.W. Cofer. Hayes has some extremely rare and valuable items and this revolver is no exception.

Gorgeous group! I have a group to an unfortunately unknown member of either 612th or 613th Pack FAB. Hopefully you were able to snag yours for a good deal?

A friend of mine was 5th Special Forces with MACV/SOG. He was a team leader for RT Fer-d-lance Republic of Vietnam 70/71. These are some of his plaques and certificates he has. This is just a fraction of what he has.

What's your point? Are you actually reading what I wrote or are you just looking to criticize? My flag has 48 stars, is 17 feet by 9 feet,  And I realize you have a real hate of AI, but none the less, AI puts it this way "You have a remarkably historic artifact on your hands. A 48-star flag dates its production precisely between 1912 and 1959. Because your flag features an embedded rope halter (often a heavy hemp or nylon rope with a metal snap hook or ring called a distance line) instead of standard brass grommets, it is definitively a U.S. Navy issue ship's ensign. and then when I tell it that the stars are sewn on instead of embroidered and that the rope is natural fiber it tells me that ...... "This confirmation provides exact details on its age and authenticity. The use of individual sewn-on fabric stars and a natural-fiber hemp rope places the manufacturing of your flag definitively within the World War II era (roughly 1941–1945). So are you disagreeing with all that or much of that, and if so why and what part?    And what was it that Rooster told me that you are referring to? That there are even larger ones? I knew that before he posted that and I still looked at what he shared, but mine is a bit over 17 feet by over 9 feet that's a size 6. That makes it a flag was was issued to Destroyers, Cruisers, even Battleships and Aircraft Carriers as storm Ensigns, and manufactured and issued during WW2 because of the way it was made ......... again, are you disagreeing with that as well? If so what part and why? . I'd like to learn about what I don't know, if you could be patient with this novice and spell out where I am wrong, tell me in detail what AI led me to believe that you believe to be inaccurate.   I really don't want to make an enemy of you or anyone else for that matter, but if you have something that would help me rather than just tell me I'm too dumb to get it, well that would be nice.  If you have something that I may have said or thought AI said, please spell it out for me instead of just telling me I'm too dumb to listen and AI is to inefficient to know what it's talking about. Well I'm all ears, if you can tell me something that AI is incorrect about, I would love to hear what that is, I'm here to learn but I really hate personal attacks on my character or intelligence. Now Damar836 ............. I'm willing to be forum friends if you are. I extend my hand to you, will you help me or just tell me I'm too dumb to listen to your advice? You choose.

does anyone know if the usmc updates the awards section on dd214 for men and women who served in Gulf War (or any war) and were discharged before their unit got all their citations?  i.e., I had heard that they did dd215 or something to correct/augment the dd214's for discharged veterans.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
