Yup. Though it does seem wierd my great grandfather didn't get a DFC for flying in 50 missions. Though 44 counted as combat ones. 6 for some reason didn't. Could that be why

Thank you for your input!  The night camo is cool.   I was USMC for first Gulf War.  Stop loss - it says on my DD214 something to the effect "EXTENSION IS AT THE REQUEST AND FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT."  Everything I wish to sell is 100 percent authentic - souvenirs that i've kept for over 35 years.  I want to sell it as a collection.  I'm two or three few weeks from rolling this out, but the collection includes the M17 gas mask, kevlar vest, "chocolate chip" BDUs, night parka, and various other items that I wore/used during Gulf War.  I will provide redacted copies of my DD214, SRB entries, and photographs as part of the collection and/or verify provenance for a buyer.  I know every item will need to be meticulously photographed and described.  When its ready, I will send list of items with descriptions to you who have responded to my post.  The list is not finished, but I'll get it out hopefully within next few days.     Any insights from members on marketing the collection or finding people who might be interested in purchasing, would be greatly appreciated!!   I've never sold military collectibles/memorabilia or anything on any internet platform, so this is first for me.   Thank you again for your help!

You're welcome Scott.  Can you provide actual photographs of the entire tube and the markings that are on tube/s?  Also, you know for a fact now based on those newspaper articles, Shwayder Brothers did in fact make torpedo bangalore tubes for the military.  I doubt seriously the tubes were filled with TNT at Shwayder Brothers but were filled somewhere else.  Once you show us the tube diameter in your photo/s of what you have perhaps we will be able to verify whether it matches exactly to a WW2 military torpedo bangalore.  If it does match I'd say you have a torpedo bangalore tube manufactured for the military by Shwayder Brothers.  Personally I don't believe it's a corporate wall hanger/decoration, salesman sample, company museum piece, or even a fake, nor do I believe it was made to deceive for the same reasons you stated.  I don't know for sure what the correct U.S. Army markings on a WWII torpedo bangalore would be but maybe someone will be able to tell you.  Let's say it is supposed to have yellow markings on it as you show in that one photo you got from somewhere.  Maybe that torpedo bangalore tube you have didn't get far enough down the line so to speak to have those type of markings on it.  I'll wait until I see your actual photo/s of the tube that you have.  Thank you Scott.  -- Matt

Does anyone know where I could find a cap for the front sight screw?  I think it would be neat to restore  that little detail.
