When I was a kid in the 70's and 80's, not much was taught about this war and its brutality.   It didn't end with Dewey sailing into Manila harbor.  It had just begun.  And there were many Filipinos who saw that the Americans had come to replace the Spanish, and there would be no independent and sovereign nation.  The Philippine-American war was brutal.  More should be taught about it in school.

What about this Colt is not nice enough? Finish, or are there parts that are not original?

Perhaps it is just me, but I wouldn't give 3,000 for a pistol in that condition. For 3,000, you should be able to get a nicer colt.

The 197th and 118th FA Battalions were assigned to the 30th Infantry Division. Source of above showing him with the 118th FA Bn in the 30th ID is found here: https://www.indianamilitary.org/ROSTERs/rosters_of_individuals.html       Dan

Davis Valerie would most likely be a man however Valerie Davis ie….DAVIS, Valerie would be most likely a woman.   FWIW, I was trained to put last name first, then first name and middle initial on my clothing…….that said once away from training you were free to do pretty much like you wanted….depending on unit SOP and how closely they checked up on your doings.

Scott,   You need to put an addition on to your building.    It would be full in a few weeks.   Peter
