Very nice to see the longer catch for the early low windshield and its slightly different location on the hood! The low windshield was discontinued after MB 103545 which was in the hood number range W-2034XXX. The (field-applied) hood number shown is slightly higher, which might indicate this jeep failed the final factory inspection and was sent back inside for repairs before acceptance, as happened regularly. If so, it might also have a later D.O.D. than other MBs with frame numbers close by. It should still have the 'W'-prefix, and this might be still there if/when the factory drab blue number is uncovered. Hood numbers are wild though, and are almost impossible to determine 100% accurately. If you don't recover it during restoration the best you can usually hope is for is an educated guess. I would love to see some more photos. 😊 -

I was trying to figure out if I need a small or medium for pasgt, ach, etc. I have both medium and smalls for pasgt helmets but they both seem like they fit, but maybe I just need to mess around with them a bit more. -

Here is an interesting patch for the Homefront genre: NRA AWARDED FOR SPECIAL WAR SERVICE This patch is on a vintage shooting jacket I saw on FB Mkt. There are two other patches on the jacket are: Baraga Rifle & Pistol Club and 1945 CALUMET MICH U.P. (Upper Peninsula) Rifle Tournament. -

Another one I saw on a shooting jacket, not actually Cold War, but interesting in it's own right. Will post it in the Homefront patch forum as well. NRA Awarded For Special War Service Two other patches on the shooting jacket are: Baraga Rifle & Pistol Club and 1945 CALUMET MICH U.P. (Upper Peninsula) Rifle Tournament. -

Every time, I see a post about these first generation K pots, I am compelled to voice my utter displeasure of having worn one in the field. You were not supposed to sit on em or even drop them. Mine was huge! And heavy and the webbing left indent tracks in the skin on your melon..... if you ran with it or jumped and you didnt have the chinstrap on, that brim that sticks out would come down on the bridge of your nose. We went from the M1... to these things.. I was not a fan. I suppose it would have been better than an M1 in combat... But it was not designed well for the wearer. Ive tried on the ACH.. Never wore it any length of time, But the padding system feels more comfortable.. And they lost the brim. I would think that the ach is collectable now too? Having said all that.... I do have a couple K pots in my collection! lol -

Hello, While not Normandy-related, this photo is World War Two jeep-related, and may be of some interest. The photo shows Commodore Clarence E. Coffin and his wife, Roberte "Bobby" Tong Coffin in a jeep in Hankow, China. The photo dates to 1945, shortly after the war ended. Take care, Steve Bryson -

Ok that was rude of me, but you’re not making this easy! You imply that you’ve had to leave “Discord, then YouTube, now here”…and there’s only one common denominator between them that we can see. You. If you’re going onto those sites with the same attitude you came onto here with, then it’s no wonder you’ve been made to leave them. You are arrogant, closed-minded and your attitude is that of a spoiled brat who’s being told ‘No’ for the very first time. You’re still salvageable, but that’s entirely up to you. You can either choose to carry on as you are, thinking that you know everything and taking every single piece of criticism as a personal attack, behaving like a spoiled child…OR you can accept that, in the grand scheme of things, you know nothing but make yourself willing to learn, to change and to adapt your way of thinking. If you do the latter then more people will be happy to interact with you, you’ll make more friends, you’ll learn more and you’ll actually be respected. The choice, as always, is yours. Choose wisely, or drink deeply of the well of nothingness for all eternity. -

Well, I'm back on the forum after an involuntary absence of over a week due to a Cloudflare block. I have no idea how or why this happened, but happy to be back! It will take some time to catch up, but this was the first topic I went to (obviously)! 😊
