Bumping this thread, I have to do more research but I have had suspicion that upgrades to the suspension and chinstrap as seen in the LWH may have been inspired by German Schuberth 826 Helmet, Ironically itself Inspired by the PASGT. Specifically The chinstrap set up and the net-like suspension for the crown of the head. -

The canteen cup was made by Owens-Illinois. I had tremendous difficulty finding a cup by that maker over the years. Out of the 100-odd canteens in my collection, I only have one Owens-Illinois cup. That cup will add a few extra dollars to the canteen if you ever try to sell it. -

I collect and sell vintage blades of all makes and models. I love coming across military knives and have kept a few for my own PC (the joy of buying and selling). Yesterday I came into possession of a marked "U.S. Camillus N.Y." 7" fighter blade with no markings black leather sheath w/7 rivets, and black leather stacked handle. The guard appears heat treated and the pommel is vertically grooved with a rectangular peen. I'm certain it's a 1960s model Camillus based on all the markings. I've said all of that to say, it has a SSN engraved into the fuller and I would love to be able to connect this knife with a service man. Could anyone tell me if this is possible? I haven't uploaded pics because it has a SSN on it but I can if that's ok. -

Note: U.S Army Air Assault and Senior Parachutist Badge in Army Black thread. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nathan Ocasio, 435th Security Forces Squadron Contingency Response team lead, prepares for a jumpmaster mission at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport, France, June 7, 2026. Ocasio was one of 35 Airmen from the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing to static-line jump into Normandy in commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. D-Day 82 stands as a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Allied forces, underscoring how enduring alliances and shared responsibility remain vital to preserving freedom for future generations. (Photo by Capt. Amber Kelly-Herard) *Above the two Army badges, (partially covered by his collar) this Sergeant wears the Senior Security Forces Careerfield Badge in Spice Brown thread. Equivalent to branch insignia in the U.S. Army. On his left sleeve is the USAFE/U.S. Air Force Europe MAJCOM patch. -
