Greetings to all. I was able to win this tonight! I am its new caretaker. Its named. It comes from Illinois. I have no solid idea of the era from which it comes from? I would guess, early 1960's? Does anyone know more that they could tell me about this helmet? From the stampings inside I know its Airforce. Possibly ID the markings on the outside? I dont know who Colonel McPherson was but, he sure had a cool looking helmet! Cheers! Rooster! -

"For sloppy sets to flag officers, I think an entire thread could be dedicated to that. I have seen some surprising set ups over the years in official portraits (mainly during the early cold war), although again rarely with the USMC" I will agree with you on that, I remember a Change of command ceremony about 15 years ago, the new C.O. came up in his dress white with his ribbons pinned on across his chest with a one inch space between each, it looked like his 3 year old grandson did it. I was embarrassed for him. -

History, despite your thoughts to the contrary, we’re not “online ragebaiters” or “Karens”. We DO know more than you, and despite your arrogance we actually ARE trying to help you…but you’re refusing to see it as such, and interpreting our help as us being insulting or belittling you, for some reason. If your “challenges” (whatever they may be) include taking every single criticism others may have of you to heart, and genuinely believing that people are going out of their way to “hurt” you, then boy are you in for a shock! No-one here has been rude or insulting about you-you’ve been politely corrected and you’ve been given good advice. Yes we’ve taken the annoyed for one or two things, but on an adult forum (not App) these are things to expect. Coming in as you have, all guns blazing, calling yourself an “expert” while using AI to give wildly inaccurate information, and throwing your toys out of the pram when you get politely corrected on it, isn’t the best way of introducing yourself, is it…especially if you want people to take you and your opinions seriously. You state that you “care about finding the correct information”-well, so do we! Ask a question and someone will answer it, or point you in the right direction. Behave like an adult and you’ll be treated like one. Behave like a spoilt child and you’ll be treated like one. Your choice. There’s a reasonable level of mental and emotional maturity to be expected from those we interact with in daily life, be they friends, neighbours, co-workers, bosses, customers, strangers etc-you respect me and i’ll respect you. In my generation it was ‘Be excellent to each-other’. Sadly I don’t think you’re quite there yet. -

Thanks. I knew it had to do with the insignia on his collar. I didn't know about the hooks. -

Yes holster is there, the only modifications are the added sleeve pocket and the flare loops on the sleeves. Scott -

History Perfect, You say you don't mean to be Rude but you certainly are nothing but Rude. You came on here with a serious attitude and closed mind. You could really Amp up your knowledge and scope if you learn to interchange with folks instead of joust. Because you say it doesn't mean it's correct and we all take it as the gospel. We welcome and need younger people in this hobby and nobody is "ragebaiting". This forum will call out incorrect information if you are 20 or 60 years old. Take this opportunity while you can. There will be no more "Shut Up" statements etc. or you can have suspension. Learn that constructive criticism is helpful and not personal. Robert Wilson Administration
