This is a wonderful example, thank you for sharing the fotos.  I collect post Vietnam era, and also the corded uniforms of all branches.  Great purse, for me it makes the outfit, do you have shoes?  In my collecting, they tend to be hard to find even for the 1970's and 80's ensembles.  You have some very nice specimens.  Cheers, Armygas

Hello,   That is a neat looking Nash.  I am a fan of the 1940s automobiles.  I can't read the French description on the auction site, but that is a late-1947 Nash 600.   Take care,   Steve Bryson

An interesting development regarding Lt. Lloyd J. Andrews Jr.’s final mission on October 20, 1944.   A member here kindly provided information from the German side of the battle, identifying the opposing unit as III./JG 2 “Richthofen” under Oberleutnant Siegfried Lemke. According to the German records cited, the unit claimed ten victories during the engagement but also reported four pilots killed and two wounded.   What caught my attention is that the Andrews archive contains a postwar War Department letter sent to his widow stating that Andrews destroyed four enemy aircraft during his final combat.   I am not claiming a direct match has been proven. However, I find it fascinating that the War Department credited Andrews with four enemy aircraft destroyed, while the opposing German fighter unit involved in the same engagement reportedly suffered four pilot fatalities.   Has anyone seen research comparing the American records, MACRs, and German loss records from this action? It would be interesting to know whether historians have ever attempted to reconcile the Andrews documentation with the III./JG 2 casualty records from that morning.   Regardless of the answer, it is remarkable that more than eighty years later new pieces of the story are still emerging from both sides of the battle.

Hello, I was wondering all the gear I would need for a WWII U.S. Army  Military Police Officer (enlisted) while overseas on base.    What gear and uniform accessories would I need when they wear the full uniform Class A.   And what gear a military police officer would wear (dress uniform) without the 4 pocket tunic.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   What will I need for a WWII U.S. Army Nurse (Male) when at base?   What will I need for a WWII U.S. Army combat when in combat?   Thank you

Thank you for posting these fotos of the peanut suit, I have saved them to my file on women's exercise clothing.  It seams that good reference material on women's exercise uniforms is difficult to find, even the more modern items.  Are there any contract labels in these pieces?  If you have other outfits I for one would be most interested in seeing them.  Cheers, Armygas

General, hope you and your mates can find some good acquisitions in that auction.  You won't have to pay for any shipping and no tariff.  That's a good looking staff car.  Is that a siren on the L front bumper?  Let us know if it works out for your pal.  Good hunting!

Thank you for posting this female grouping.  I am always interested in the accessory items such as purse, gloves, personal bits, they really add to the presentation of the uniform.  It would be fun to know her connection to the USMC uniforms and thus why she was USMC Aux.  Cheers, Armygas

I believe this should answer your question regarding what unit Robert E Wales was in the Korean War. Note:  Per his obituary, he grew up in Jackson Summit, PA.  In the newspaper article it shows him being of Millerton, PA.  Millerton, PA is 5 miles away from Jackson Summit, PA so I'm about 99.9% sure this is your guy.                  Ancestry - Robert Eugene Wales.pdf Class Photo - Robert E Wales.pdf
