I believe Ludlow used both wire c-catches as well as cut ‘sheet’ catches so there’s no hard and fast rule as to which type of catch a maker used over the period they were producing the badges. -

Kind of looks like the Penn State Fencibles full dress uniform, although that used a mounted shell jacket type with a similar adornment / trimming. I'd recommend contacting the NGP History Project, which has an outstanding Facebook site. I wish there were more state guard related historians that put the level of detail they do into their NG history. -

The M109 was painted again, this time with Vallejo "Iraqui Sand". I´m happy with the result. Next steps are color washes and detail painting.
