My father was in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He made this knife. He told me as a boy that the 4.5 inch blade was made from a propeller, the bakelite rings were from radios, and the aluminum rings were from various parts of damaged aircraft. The endpiece is screwed onto the tang. There are no markings on the knife. My dad is now deceased and I cannot ask more questions of him. He always kept it in his drawer, and now I keep it in mine. How common were these knives? -

I mean, my ebay listing is getting quite the amount of traction. Got it priced to give me around $500 after fees and shipping are all said and done -

It does appear a good portion have writing on the back, although not the easiest to get out of the book to read with the plastic cover over the pictures. -

I think you would get closer to $500 if you sold them separately. FYI I’m not a buyer or collector of this sort of material I’m just offering my flawed opinion. The crate is cool! -

Great lid! I am usually against using any type of chemical on helmets, but I never heard of "Whink" before, and since you said that it doesn't affect the paint, it should be interesting! Please post photos of the results and when you pair it with the Saint Clair! Musi -
