Greetings all! I finally got a hold of one of these desert night parkas. Been wanting one... Apparently the pattern was designed to defeat Soviet night vision. Cheers! -

The dog tag below belongs to Arthur V O'Connell. I believe that he was also 118th Combat Engineers Battalion and part of the 43rd Division. This dog tag was found in New Georgia, Solomon Islands. Would like some more information about Arthur.V. O'Connell -

What a nice find! We could debate forever why stuff like this leaves a family but it's my opinion that most stuff rarely stays in a family. As a collector, we will be a good caretaker until it's time to pass it to someone else. -

In the closeup pic it looks like there is a faint 0 or 3 after the 8. If you take pictures of the bails it will tell you if it is a 28 heat stamp or not. -

Although an old thread. I just received two pairs of these today, purchased from someone who had no idea. I thought they were what was stated above, but I have no need for two pairs. If anyone have any idea of the going price of a pair, or would be interested in a pair, please let me know. Each only has one strap though.
